Student Radio Advertising
Although radio advertising is not commonplace in apartment rental marketing, the student market in some instances provides the opportunity do so. This is typically more plausible in small towns where local radio is outweighed by the wide range of musical tastes and demands of students. It is in this case, that college and university radio stations draw a larger student audience than local stations. Even then, it is not a typical means of advertising, but does target your market specifically and for very little most often.
Ann Street Case Study
In the case of Varsity Commons, radio was not an advantageous means of marketing, as the Western radio station did not draw the market wanted. More appropriate would have been the use of Fanshaw College radio, which is the dominant radio station for students from both educational institutions. That being said, with the case of Varsity Commons, radio was deemed not to be a viable marketing initiative.
